Wollongong, NSW, Australia (British)
Since the age of 6, when I first learned to swim, I've been mesmerised by
water, the sea especially. Since that young age most of my time has been spent
pursuing sports that involve the ocean and exploring it's hidden beauty.
Nowadays I like to devote my 'ocean time' to recording its many facets and
secrets onto film, or pixels as it is today. I have travelled the world to
places such as Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Hawaii, Sri Lanka,
Canaries, Caribbean and of course all over here in the UK in pursuit of surfing,
diving and photography and I am always surprised and amazed by what the sea has
to reveal. When shooting surf I like to try and fuse the natural elements such
as weather and light with the actual surf to create a more moody, low key type
of image. This is why a lot of my images tend to end up monochromatic, to try
and squeeze out every ounce of atmosphere. I want my images to appeal to surfers
and non surfers alike as an image that can be displayed on anyone's wall and not
look too out of place.
